PROJECT BRIEF

Prospect Contractors aided in stablising and protecting the Valley View Dry Creek Bridge abutments from further erosion through the installation of high-quality gabions.

Gabions are water permeable and will resolve any issues of hydrostatic build up. Safe for both freshwater and marine environments, gabions help prevent erosion and enhance the natural biodiversity of the surrounding environment.

High-quality gabion baskets from Maccaferri were used on the project. The baskets were finished with Polimac coating, enabling them to be abrasion resistant. Geofabric was used between the embankment and gabion walling to stop dirt and slit permeating and leading to further erosion.

Prospect Contractors obtained both engineering and council approval before the commencement of this project and as an end result have prevented further erosion to the area and extended the bridges longevity.
