Nest Landscape Design, Tallebudgera Valley (QLD)
CATEGORY: Residential Construction $150,000 to $250,000
PROJECT BRIEF
Nest Landscape Design were engaged to design and construct a garden that was sympathetic to the material selections, connected to the home’s alpine-interior architecture and provided a strong form in the landscape.
The end result features a textural material palette landscape that ties into features of the home and the existing landscaping. Including silvered crazy paving, silvered decking, basalt boulder, silvered fence battens and a darker green pool, all elements add to the sense of naturalism in the garden space. The textural, muted palette stands out in the landscape and complements the home.
The softscaping involved exotic, cold-climate species that will perform well in the Tallebudgera Valley. Featuring many natives and drifts and swaths of grasses, the overall design is a beautiful executed landscape in both function and style
JUDGES COMMENTS
“This is a beautifully executed landscape that carries through exceptional construction detailing over sprawling grounds that blend back into the rural residential feel. The alpine inspired project features hints of exotic cold climate planting mixed with natives amongst elements of boulder and stone. The attention paid to each hardscape interface and the way the planting growth supports the visual appeal, has led to a beautifully finished project that meets the original design intent and that the contractor should be very proud of.”
