Contemporary Landscaping, Sunshine Beach (QLD)
CATEGORY: Residential over $250,000
PROJECT BRIEF
The brief for Contemporary Landscapes was to transform this well-known Sunshine Beach property to reflect the new owners’ ideals of quality outdoor living, entertaining and integration with the natural surroundings.
The design included changes to the existing lap pool and an entry that featured a stunning Balinese Temple door. A large pond with water spill-over was renovated with Finch natural stone and internal pond lighting to bring out the beauty of the stone and movement of water reflection. An existing spa in disuse was rejuvenated with natural stone coping, mosaic and bench seating that looks out toward the water.
The property is located within an environmentally sensitive area with a natural water course running from Noosa National Park through to Sunshine Beach. To factor in easements that crisscrossed through the property, the overall ground levels were raised and retaining walls installed to maximise useable space. The re-laying of turf with adequate drainage paired with tropical plants creates an oasis that leads the eye towards the pool and distant views of the ocean.
