Meet the Judges
Josh Hooper, Landscape Contractor (SA)
Founding Owner of Landscape Techniques (LT) and MLSA Board Member, Josh Hooper has 20 years’ experience in the landscape industry. He has developed LT from a predominately sub-contracting company to one of SA’s premium design and construct landscaping companies. Josh’s passion and creative flare for outdoor living has allowed him to design and construct outdoor spaces that provide not only function but imaginative design. With an exceptional team of in-house landscape designers, builders, stonemasons, paviours, carpenters and horticulturalists, LT’s vision is to deliver exquisite custom outdoor spaces that exceed client expectations. LT also maintain a focus on sustainability, using a range of eco-friendly products and landscaping techniques to minimise the impact on the earth.
Lisa Hall, Horticulturist and Landscape Designer (WA)
Lisa Hall is a qualified horticulturist and landscape designer who holds a Diploma of Landscape Design, as well as other certificates in this field. Lisa has a strong industry background having worked in both commercial and residential landscaping as a designer and horticulturist. She has experience as a project manager working within the not-for-profit sector. Lisa brings with her almost a decade of design and green infrastructure expertise, most notably her experience with vertical gardens and green facades.
Lisa has spent the last four years of her career as a lecturer at South Metropolitan TAFE teaching horticulture, landscape construction and landscape design skills. In October 2022, Lisa Hall joined the LIAWA Board representing South Metropolitan TAFE in filling its board’s Education position. Lisa is a very passionate, enthusiastic and industry-focused individual and has been involved in several LIAWA events over the years, as well as volunteering her time to the organisation.
Tessa Leggo, Landscape Architect (QLD)
Tessa Leggo is a seasoned Landscape Architect with a rich background in designing diverse public spaces, urban mixed-use developments, sporting fields, residential communities and transport infrastructure. She possesses a keen eye for innovation and sustainability, with extensive experience spanning both local and international projects. As the AILA Queensland Chapter President, Tessa is deeply committed to advancing the field and advocating for greener, more sustainable environments. Tessa’s longstanding involvement with the Landscape Queensland Construction Excellence Awards, including her role as head judge, reflects her dedication to recognising and promoting excellence within the industry.
Anthony Scott, Landscape Designer and Builder (VIC)
Anthony Scott has over 25 years’ experience designing and building landscape projects both in Victoria and interstate. With an emphasis on producing high-quality space with a personal touch. Anthony has proven that with well-considered planning and experienced management, even the most difficult sites can be conquered with outstanding results.
Anthony has qualifications in design, structural landscaping and swimming pool construction. For the past six years Anthony has been the head judge of the Landscaping Victoria Master Landscapers, Award of Excellence. He has done regular TV appearances and guest speaking at industry events where he shares his knowledge and experience.
Sam Langham, Landscape Contractor (NSW)
Sam Langham is the director and founder of Outside Indulgence, and serves as a board member of The Landscape Association (TLA). Sam established Outside Indulgence with a distinct mission: to provide bespoke, premium residential pools, spas, and landscapes. Sam has accumulated over two decades of expertise in conceptual planning, project oversight, pool and spa construction, and landscape development. As a licensed pool and spa builder and structural landscaper, he brings a wealth of qualifications and experience to the field.
Nicole Mulloy, Outdoor Design Source Editor
Nicole Mulloy is the Editor of Outdoor Design Source, the foremost industry resource for specifiers of external works projects. Having held this position for over six years, Nicole has extensive knowledge of the happenings in the landscaping and civil works arenas and an understanding of the changing face of the public space environment. In addition, Nicole is the Editor of the annual Outdoor Living Product Guide, a consumer-facing publication that delves into the world of outdoor design and landscaping. Her experience in both the commercial and domestic realms gives her a solid perspective on this year’s entries across both sectors.
Matthew Richardson, Grillex National Sales Manager – SPONSOR
Matthew Richardson, Grillex National Sales Manager, joined the Grillex team in 2020, bringing with him 11 years of experience in the park infrastructure industry. His extensive expertise has supported the development of partnerships with major construction companies and international architects, to deliver some of Australia’s most iconic open spaces. David Blackman, DECO Australia National Sales Manager – SPONSOR
David Blackman is DECO Australia’s National Sales Manager and has over 25 years’ experience in the building and design industry. David has previously run his own building hardware store as well as owned his own building and plastering companies. David has worked across all areas of the building industry, providing innovative solutions to architects, designers and the building trade to help bring their projects to life.
